Polti Unico FAQs

What is the difference between Polti Unico and Polti Vaporetto Lecoaspira?

The Polti Unico is a powerful, bagless multi-cyclonic vacuum cleaner able to dispense steam to clean, sanitise and dry washable surfaces within the home. This makes it a complete appliance for daily and deep cleaning of the home. Polti Unico is particularly suited for people who prefer to maintain maximum hygiene during daily cleaning, but it can also be used for deep cleaning.

The Polti Vaporetto Lecoaspira is a powerful Vaporetto, with the addition of water filtration, able to vacuum solids and liquids for even more effective cleaning. It is the perfect tool for deep cleaning if you don't have time to clean every day, for example, for people who prefer to clean the house at the weekend.

What does “multi-cyclonic” mean?

Vacuum cleaners with multi-cyclonic technology use a filtration system that generates a series of vortexes (called cyclones) inside the dirt collector tank. The centrifugal force of the cyclones, the dirt and dust particles are separated from the air, which comes out cleaner.

How is it possible to clean using only steam?

The steam generated by Polti Unico pressurised steam generators dissolves dirt and removes it from surfaces with heat and the pressurised jet. Grease, germs and bacteria are broken down and so can be removed with ease. Spraying steam with a low mineral salt content when cleaning breaks down electrostatic charges and causes dust suspended in the air to fall, thereby improving the air quality of the room.

What does "dry" steam mean?

High-pressure and high-temperature steam is considered “dry” because it cleans without leaving surfaces wet. Dry saturated steam generated by the pressurised boiler occurs when all the liquid part has evaporated. Thus, there is less moisture and it dries extremely fast on surfaces.

What is the difference between the Polti Unico models?

Use the +COMPARE button found on every product page on our site to create a comparison page for the available models. You can evaluate the technical features and functions, as well as the standard accessories.

I purchased the Unico (or I’m about to purchase it), and when I was reading the technical specifications I saw that the power is 2,200 W. Does this mean that the Unico is a vacuum cleaner with 2,200 W of power?

The Unico is made up of an extremely efficient suction engine and a boiler for generating steam. The 2,200 W of power represents the TOTAL consumed power. Using it only as a vacuum cleaner, the consumed power falls to 1,350 W. The remaining Watts are for the boiler.

Can I vacuum and steam at the same time or use the two functions separately?

Yes, the advantage of the Polti Unico is that you can use the steam and vacuum functions together or separately. In fact, they have two separate buttons and can be activated individually or at the same time. What's more, the suction lets you dry any moisture left by the steam and thus reduce the time it takes to clean.

Can I use the steam and suction immediately, or do I have to vacuum the dirt up first?

For cleaning floors, you should vacuum first to remove the most evident dirt and then finish cleaning by turning on both functions to wash and dry the surfaces. This procedure guarantees the best results in terms of cleanliness and hygiene.

When I dry my floors (brush in position B), there are still streaks of water left over. Is this normal?

The exclusive Multibrush for the Polti Unico has been designed to wash and dry floors in one stroke. For particularly “textured” or “uneven” floors (or where flooring has not been laid perfectly), there may be a few streaks of water at the end. We recommend passing the cloth provided over them (affixed to the holder and putting the brush in position A) to finish drying the surface.

When cleaning, there are still a few traces of water on the floor right after I’ve stopped vacuuming. Is this normal?

Liquids should be vacuumed by positioning the suction selector on maximum power (“Max” on the handle). For optimal results, we suggest keeping the suction on for a few seconds after vacuuming liquids.
